Follow this guide to retrofit your installation for metric ISO system with Swedish base.
NOTE! Make sure that IRONCAD is closed when you do this.
Start by downloading and unpacking this file which contains all the metric templates:
Copy the unpacked Template folder.
Go to this path:
C:\Users\*YOUR USER*\AppData\Roaming\IronCAD\IRONCAD\25.0\en-us
(Quick access to path: %appdata%\IronCAD\ IRONCAD\25 .0\en-us)
Right-click on the existing Template folder and select Delete
Paste the new template folder instead
Download and unpack our custom sheet metal tables from this link:
Download the sheet metal tables for year 2023
Now copy both of the sheet metal tables Stocktbl.txt and Tooltbl.txt
Delete the two existing files and paste the new files here:
C:\Users\*YOUR USER*\AppData\Local\IronCAD\IRONCAD\25.0\en-us\SheetMetal
(Quick access to path: %localappdata%\IronCAD\ IRONCAD\25 .0\en-us\SheetMetal)
Then go to this path and paste and replace the two files here with:
C:\Program Files\IronCAD\2023\AppData\en-us\SheetMetal
If you get an error message after the installation process is complete, it may be because you have a space in your Windows username. Try unpacking the installation file manually by following the steps below. We have written how to do this in both Windows 11 and Windows 10.
This is for Windows 11
If the path to the folder that handles "My Documents" and "Downloaded Files" etc. contains a space in your username (\Firstname_space_Password\) you need to manually unpack the installation file, otherwise an error message will appear during installation. To unzip, you can for example use WinRAR/WinZIP or preferably the easy to use and compact 7-zip: https://www.7-zip.org/
Then you can right-click on the file you downloaded and choose Show more options
Then select 7-zip followed by Unzip to "IronCAD_DCS2023SP1_SWE\
Then run the installation file itself in the new folder by right-clicking on the *.exe file and selecting Run as administrator:
This applies to Windows 10
If the path to the folder that handles "My Documents" and "Retrieved Files" etc. contains a space in your username (\Firstname_Space_Password\) you need to manually unzip the installation file, otherwise an error message will appear during installation. To unzip, you can use WinRAR/WinZIP or the easy to use and compact 7-zip: https://www.7-zip.org/
Then you can right-click on the file you downloaded and choose to unzip it into a new folder which will be created automatically.
Then run the installation file itself in the new folder by right-clicking on the *.exe file and selecting Run as administrator:
Download and unpack our customized catalogues (about 400 MB) from this link:
Now copy the two folders Scene and Drawing
Paste and replace the catalogs on this path: C:\Program Files\IronCAD\2023\AppData\en-us\Catalogs
Download and unzip this file which contains two registry files:
This is what happens when the registry entries are installed.
*CUS = Current User Settings -> this is enforced for the currently logged in user via \\CURRENT USER and replaces existing registry settings, but does not delete any (e.g. if you have opened more files than are set in CUS etc).
*NUS = New User Settings -> this changes the basic settings under \\LOCAL MACHINE used by CUS when a new Windows user runs IC for the first time.
Then double-click on one of the registry entries to install(repeat the process for both files).
You will receive a warning message that looks like the image below.
Then say Yes to this box followed by OK.
Go to Control Panel>Add or remove programs and uninstall existing installation of IronCAD Mechanical
Download and install the English edition of IC Mechanical:
When you have finished customising, it is important that you also right-click on the desktop icon for IRONCAD and select Run as administrator:
Then create a new empty 3D scene followed by a new empty 2D drawing. Once this is done, you then need to shut down IRONCAD again.
Then you can start in the usual way by double-clicking the desktop icon.
Now that IRONCAD is up and running, you need to open catalogues in both the 3D and 2D environments.
Open or create a new 3D scene
Make sure that it is the (original US) Starter catalog that is displayed, otherwise find it via the list of catalogs at the bottom and then press the Close button:
Now choose to open our custom catalog by clicking the Open button.
Navigate to C:\Program Files\IronCAD\2023\AppData\en-us\Catalogs\Scene and scroll down the list, select the directory StarterSwe-v2022 followed by Open
Open or create a new 2D drawing.
Go to the Common tab and select Close All
Then press Open
Navigate to C:\Program Files\IronCAD\2023\AppData\en-us\Catalogs\Drawing hold down the CTRL key and select the catalogs Annotations, ICD Templates, Welding and TextProp followed by Open
Now the adaptation is done! Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
