The basic training in IRONCAD is a total of 4 days, usually divided into two parts to facilitate learning.

Participants will get a good understanding of different methods to design efficiently in 3D and how to quickly depict 3D models with associative 2D drawings in IRONCAD.

Learn the basics of part modeling, handling in assemblies, modifying imported geometry, creating and expanding Sheet Metal parts, realistic image rendering, video animation, catalog management and much more!

  • Overview, interfaces, program structure and basic working methods.
  • Create Parts, Assemblies, 2D Drawings, Sheet Metal.
  • Basic 3D modelling.
  • Create geometries by drag and drop, extrude, spin, sweep and loft.
  • Edit and modify 3D geometries in different ways.
  • TriBall, the universal tool in IRONCAD that replaces mates and constraints.
  • 2D drawing production, dimensioning, parts lists, DWG export.
  • Catalogues, linking files, structuring work.
  • Use standard components such as screws, nuts and threaded holes.
  • Sheet Metal, sheet propagation (introduction).
  • Modify imported geometry.
  • Image export, rendering, lights, stickers, textures, etc.
  • Animate, create motion, export to video.
  • Publish 3D models in web format.

The training is held during the first three days on site in our conference room in Stockholm with a mixture of a number of joint reviews and own work during four "sessions" per day. The last day (day 4) is held via Microsoft Teams, with the same structure of four sessions during the day.

Examples of how we organise our days:

DAY 1 - Basics of IRONCAD

Session 1 - at 08:30 - 10:00, Welcome, presentation
Brief background information Solidmakarna AB and IronCAD LLC and the structure of the 4-day course and its content.
Basics of Part modeling (own work).

Hatch/coffee.

Session 2 - 10:15 to 12:00, TriBall
A short briefing, then own work with TriBall.

Free for lunch.

Session 3 - 13:00 to 14:45, assembly (part-modeling, catalogs and TriBall)
A short review, then own work part-modeling in a assembly.

Hatch/coffee.

Session 4 - 15:00 to 16:30, Sketch/Cross section
A short briefing, then your own work with Extrude/Spin/Sweep/Loft and its Sketch.

What do previous participants think?

1 starstarsstarsstarsstars

The structure was clear and the training was easy to follow with clear steps.

Oscar Fluur

1 starstarsstarsstarsstars

Very good, there was also time for a lot of individual questions about how we work.

Johan Aldenbrand

1 starstarsstarsstarsstars

High-level sausage stuffing but it is usually enough to remember where things were processed to go back and repeat.

Pontus Uman

The training is a basic course but still provides a very broad overview. Great!
