IRONCAD launches new version 2020

This version of IRONCAD allows all users to be more efficient and save valuable time with new functionality introduced based on user requests. Users of IRONCAD continuously report requests and feedback regarding new functionality that increases productivity and improves the workflow from 3D concept through design and all the way to detailed 2D drawing. Among other things, these requests are the basis for the development of version 2020. The latest version is well proven before release and testers of the BETA version have reported a big boost both in terms of performance for large assemblies and useful new features.

Improvements in 2D

Many of the new features in this release are improvements in the 2D drawing part, ICD (IronCAD Drawing Enviroment). The aim was to refine the process from 3D design to finished 2D drawing with dimensioning. This allows the user to shorten the time from development to manufacturing with better performance, improved features, better access to frequently used functions and the ability to create Views faster with, for example, automation via "Bulk Drawing". New smart use of flexible 2D Catalogues to create different symbols such as welds, tolerances and surface roughness at lightning speed has also been added.

Handle even larger assemblys

In addition to the 2D drawing part, IRONCAD 2020 delivers improvements in handling large assemblies. This specific part of the development was introduced to improve system performance by taking advantage of newer multi-core hardware. In addition, new features are introduced for smooth handling in working with large assemblies through with further improvements within IRONCAD:s ShrinkWrap tool. This allows the user to easily switch between simplified reference geometry and modifiable solid geometry. With IRONCAD 2020, significant improvements are introduced in importing, opening, saving and the daily work with large assemblies. Improvements have been measured between 30-50% in working with large assemblies.

Further improvements

Other improvements include a new search function for commands, new possibilities for handling Catalogs; such as having several open at the same time, better support for 4K screens, Feature Fill Pattern, and not least: several really powerful improvements in SheetMetal! And, as usual with IRONCAD , the two solid kernel ACIS and Parasolid are updated to newer versions and the import filters are updated.

Swedish adapted installation
