Faluplast designs, manufactures, and sells plastic plumbing products that simplify and streamline the work of plumbers. The company’s history began in the mid-1960s with the first plastic P-traps and has evolved into Falu-Flexi, by far the most common P-trap on the market. Most of the products are manufactured at the factory in Falun, from which all shipments are made, and the company is ISO-certified for quality and environmental management.
Several of the products are type-approved, which requires ongoing inspections during production and of finished products. Test reports, certificates, and instructions must be linked to the correct CAD documentation, and it must always be clear which revision is the most recent, without that knowledge being tied to any single individual.
With DDM it became much easier to find the right CAD drawings and know which revision is current. The system also provides a structure for other product-related documents, such as test reports, certificates, and instructions.
The risk of errors and duplicate work has decreased, work has become more efficient, and there is less reliance on a specific person to find information.
Since we implemented DDM , it has become much easier to find the right CAD files and determine which revision is the most recent, which reduces the risk of errors and duplicate work. Furthermore, there is a system in place for storing other product-related documents, such as test reports, certificates, and instructions. This streamlines the work process and reduces the reliance on a specific person to locate information.
