We have ongoing projects in the wood industry involving equipment for timber handling in sawmills. We also offer our own products for sawmills, which we both design and manufacture. We have delivered these machines to customers in many countries across Europe.

When it comes to design tools, we have access to a variety of 3D CAD solutions at our company, so we have extensive experience and understand how different types of 3D software work, along with their pros and cons. One reason is that the software offers greater flexibility and is well-suited for testing different alternative solutions. It’s one thing to simply draw something when you know exactly what it should look like from the start, but that’s rarely the case. We start with the customer’s needs and test various options before finding the best solution. This approach doesn’t work with more rigid parametric software that relies on fixed constraints and limitations. Another reason IRONCAD better is that we create many projects for the sawmill industry involving large assemblies consisting of several hundred thousand parts. This requires the software to perform well for both layout and detailed design. We might start with a 2D DWG file showing the industrial building and the conditions within the premises.

Next, we create various part assemblies and place them in appropriate locations. We still have everything in a single file in IRONCAD. Only when solutions begin to take shape do we start linking to separate part assemblies and even Part, if we choose to. This saves a lot of time. The ability to easily reuse components via IRONCAD 3D IRONCAD is another feature we appreciate. With IRONCAD , we IRONCAD work directly in 3D in a way that feels natural and flexible. The TriBall tool and drag-and-drop from catalogs allow us to avoid getting bogged down in constraints and parameters that take time in other systems.
