Translator is the import and export filter that allows IRONCAD, INOVATE , and DRAFT to open files directly from SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA V5, Solid Edge, NX, Creo, JT, IFC, and Rhino. The model is imported as true geometry, not as a “dead copy”: you can edit, combine, and build upon it without a history tree, and IRONCAD automatically selects the ACIS or Parasolid kernel for the best results. No conversion, no lost dimensions.
The standard installation of IRONCAD already opens IronCAD files, STEP AP203/214, IGES, Parasolid (.x_t), and ACIS (.sat) files. Translator adds the system-specific formats, allowing the customer’s or supplier’s original files to be opened directly without an intermediate step via STEP.
