The designer works in IRONCAD as usual and checks the model into the Synergy Vault from the Add-Ins tab. The Vault keeps track of versions, who has the file checked out, and which drawings and linked files belong together. A colleague in the shop or a customer receives a link and opens the model in a web browser—on a computer, tablet, or smartphone—without having to install anything. If there are any comments, they’re added as notes in the viewer; the designer makes the changes and checks in a new revision. Everything is gathered in one place instead of being scattered across emails and shared folders.
Synergy consists of a platform with users, roles, and permissions, a document vault, and a web viewer. Configurator is an add-on service that is activated on a per-company basis.
Version-controlled documents with check-in and check-out capabilities from both IRONCAD and a web browser. You control revisions, properties, permissions, and who is authorized to release a file. IronCAD files retain their links to external parts and drawings. Other file types, such as PDF, Office, and STEP, can be added to the vault as unmanaged documents for sharing.
IronCAD-Models and drawings are displayed directly in Synergy on any device. The recipient can rotate, section, measure, and add comments without a IRONCAD license. This makes Synergy an easy way to have customers approve a design or let installers view the model on-site.
Upload catalogs of configurable products, and your sales team, customers, and suppliers can build their own configurations using drag-and-drop in the browser and view the price per component and the total amount. The finished configuration is sent to IRONCAD, which opens it with actual design data and can automatically generate drawings. Configurator is a paid add-on service per user.
Synergy Runs on Amazon Web Services with security at the platform, user, and role levels. Previous versions of files can be restored. Up to 10 GB of storage per company is included; additional users and storage can be added as needs grow.
