The Challenge

A hydraulic system consists of both in-house manufactured parts and many purchased components: filters, motors, pumps, and valves. Tanks, frames, and piping must fit precisely, and the design must be able to be modified right in front of the customer without risking the error messages that are common in constraint-based systems.

How Industrial Hydraulics Works Today

• Hydraulic tanks are designed using sheet metal modeling, and the unfolded sheet metal is exported to DXF for laser cutting
• Frames are constructed using bent sheet metal or the range of beams and sections in IRONCAD
• Filters, motors, pumps, and other purchased components are imported directly into the assembly
• Pipes and hoses are routed as 3D curves and optimized for the best fit
• Advanced hydraulic blocks are designed based on our own or the customer's schematics
