With over 50 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, aluminum welding, laser cutting, and punching, the family-owned company Länna Svets operates out of Merlänna, just outside Strängnäs. Over the years, the company has built a state-of-the-art workshop equipped with machinery for laser cutting, turret punching, press braking, eccentric press forming, and welding.
When communicating with customers, 2D files such as DWG and DXF, as well as 3D files in formats such as STEP, X_T, SLDPRT, and SLDASM, are often sent. For collaboration to run smoothly, a CAD system is needed that is interoperable and flexible—one that can import files from other programs and export manufacturing files and cost estimates.
IRONCAD is highly skilled at importing and exporting various CAD formats. Länna Svets is a long-standing customer of Solidmakarna and uses IRONCAD for product development and sheet metal bending. Using the flexible sheet metal table, the company is building its own library of sheet metal parts, ready to be processed with the progressive sheet metal bending tools.
IRONCAD It is used for everything in manufacturing, and after about 20 years, the workflow is well established. When questions arise, Solidmakarnas support is available to provide a quick response.
We use IRONCAD for all aspects of manufacturing in our workshop. We design, create manufacturing files, and generate files for calculating part costs. We also receive files from customers, which IRONCAD handles very well, even if they were created in other software.
