Van Keulen Interieurbouw is a family-owned business with a long history, founded in 1944 by carpenter Lammert van Keulen. After more than 70 years of growth, the Nijverdal-based company is now a leading and respected player in Dutch interior design and retail fit-out. Its subsidiary, SBM Systems, and its in-house R&D department already had four years of experience with IRONCAD when the decision was made to implement the software across all departments.
The metalworking and store-fitting departments worked in the PointLine 2D and 3D system. Van Keulen sought the most productive CAD system for product development—a system where designers could design in 3D without their creativity being limited by the tool, and where the 3D data could be linked directly to the existing CAD/CAM software in production.
After a year of intensive research and evaluation, the decision was made to choose IRONCAD. Ideas are visualized quickly, designs are developed significantly faster, and the built-in visualization features improve collaboration among design teams. The short learning curve and the enthusiasm of the company’s existing IRONCAD users were also major factors.
