It can be difficult to find contour lines on round details when measuring in the ICD drawing. This is mainly because the type of line you are trying to find is not a geometrically sharp contour line (even though that is what you "see" on the drawing), but a so-called silhouette line - i.e. the outside of a round bar. In order to measure its ends, you may sometimes need to use a reference measurement from the radius centre of a circle or arc.
