I IRONCAD provides a tool to quickly intersect a part or assembly in the 3D scene. The tool is called"Section Part / Assembly" and can be found under the Tools tab. The convenience of this tool is that there are two different modes. By default, you get a visual section if you just want to quickly see what the model looks like inside.

The second mode is accessed by right-clicking on the Section Tool in the history tree. Here you select "Precise Mode". In this mode, you can snap to and project from parts affected by the section. In both modes, you can also add or remove parts that will or will not be affected by the section and change the position of the section using TriBall.
