In some cases, you may want to convert your hardware lock to a software license. The software license can be activated and run on one computer at a time. We ALWAYS provide temporary licenses during the conversion process, so you will not experience any downtime. You can also easily move the software license between computers as needed (this can be done any number of times, with no restrictions). Is there a cost to convert the license?
No, we do not charge any fees for this. It is free of charge.

What happens if min breaks down/is stolen or if I forget to export the license before formatting?
Don't worry, we can easily reset your license remotely, which usually works immediately.

How long does the conversion take?
If this is done on a weekday, you will usually receive your new license the same day or the day after.

To begin the conversion, please follow these steps:

2. The Temple is created

Once we receive your email, we will create a 5-day temporary license for IRONCAD. You will receive an email from us with your temporary serial number and code word, which you can activate according to these instructions:

If you get an error message after the installation process is complete, it may be because you have a space in your Windows username. Try unpacking the installation file manually by following the steps below. We have written how to do this in both Windows 11 and Windows 10.

This is for Windows 11
If the path to the folder that handles "My Documents" and "Downloaded Files" etc. contains a space in your username (\Firstname_space_Password\) you need to manually unpack the installation file, otherwise an error message will appear during installation. To unzip, you can for example use WinRAR/WinZIP or preferably the easy to use and compact 7-zip: https://www.7-zip.org/
Then you can right-click on the file you downloaded and choose Show more options

Then select 7-zip followed by Unzip to "IronCAD_DCS2023SP1_SWE\

Then run the installation file itself in the new folder by right-clicking on the *.exe file and selecting Run as administrator:

This applies to Windows 10
If the path to the folder that handles "My Documents" and "Retrieved Files" etc. contains a space in your username (\Firstname_Space_Password\) you need to manually unzip the installation file, otherwise an error message will appear during installation. To unzip, you can use WinRAR/WinZIP or the easy to use and compact 7-zip: https://www.7-zip.org/

Then you can right-click on the file you downloaded and choose to unzip it into a new folder which will be created automatically.

Then run the installation file itself in the new folder by right-clicking on the *.exe file and selecting Run as administrator:

3. Verify that the license is working

After activating the license, test it to ensure that the temporary license is working. Close IRONCAD remove the hardware lock. Then start IRONCAD.

If IRONCAD does not IRONCAD on the temporary license , please contact us and we will help you further.

4. Destroy the hardware lock

Now take a picture of your undamaged hardware lock. Then damage the hardware lock in some way. Take a photo of the damaged hardware lock.

Reply to the email we sent you with the template and attach both photos of the hardware lock.

5. Your new license is created

We will send your images to IronCAD will perform the conversion. If this is done on a weekday, you will usually receive your new license on the same day or the day after. Once the conversion is complete, you will receive an email from us with your new license certificate. Then, simply activate your new license according to these instructions:

6. Clear

Everything is ready! You can now throw away the hardware lock and you now have a software license instead.
