If you have already downloaded and installed a US version of IRONCAD DCS via Live Update (or manually), you may wonder: do I need to do anything more? The answer is yes, if you are using the Swedish standard and working with metric units. To ensure that your installation works optimally and is adapted to Swedish conditions, a metric adaptation is recommended.

Why is a metric adjustment recommended?

When installing the US edition of IRONCAD DCS, the standard templates, catalogs, sheet metal tables and units will often be adapted for American (ANSI) or English settings. In order to work in millimeters, Swedish measurement systems and with Swedish templates, you need to make adjustments according to our guide for metric adaptation.

What do I need to do?

  • Download and replace the drawing form template with the Swedish/metric version.
  • Replace plate tables (Stocktbl.txt and Tooltbl.txt) with versions adapted for Swedish names and units of measurement.
  • Change the Drawing and Scene catalogs to the metric versions.
  • Use the correct paths and make sure IRONCAD is closed before making the changes

As long as you have installed the US version and are using the standard installation, you will need to perform a metric adaptation to achieve correct units of measure, templates and catalogs in Swedish environments. By following our guide for "Metric adaptation of US IRONCAD" you will avoid problems with wrong units, templates or catalogs. Please visit the guide directly for full instructions.
