Architectural Translator is the name of a brand new Add On to the IRONCAD
Architectural Translator handles new file formats that facilitate communication between IRONCAD and the Construction/Architecture sector.
Most IRONCAD users create products related to machine design or product development.
But there are also users who have discovered the benefits of IRONCAD's flexibility and speed in interior design and building construction.
There is therefore a need to communicate between IRONCAD and programs that can handle the IFC format. IFC can be said to be STEP in the construction sector, a neutral format for 3D models that many programs in construction can handle. IRONCAD has also previously had support for importing IFC through TRANSLATOR, but now there is also an export option to the IFC format.
In construction and architecture, a program called Revit is sometimes used. Now with the new Architectual Translator it is possible to both open 3D files from and save files to the Revit format. This makes it easier, for example, to place 3D models created in IRONCAD in houses with Revit.
Architectural Translator is installed with Service Pack 1 for IronCAD DCS 2024.
We will provide more information about the new Add On module Architectual Translator on this page (under development): LINK
