Some users have experienced slow start-ups and slow/hacky graphics after installing PU1 for 2024.

NOTE! This hotfix should only be applied if PU1 for version 2024 has been installed.

The problem manifests itself in slightly different ways depending on the type of license you have. So far we have only received reports from some people using a USB dongle or network license via software (Sentinel NLM).

Hotfix files for IRONCAD 2024 PU1

These hotfix files can be applied even if you do not have any of the three issues listed below (USB and NLM).

  1. Close IRONCAD.
  2. Download this ZIP file: Hotfix for IRONCAD 2024 PU1 (updated May 14)
  3. Right-click on the zipped file and select Extract
  4. Double-click (open up) the unpacked folder.
  5. Copy all files located there.
  6. Go to this path: C:\Program Files\IronCAD \2024\bin
  7. Right-click in the folder and select Paste...
  8. Choose to replace all existing files.
  9. Then launch IRONCAD.
  10. Sure!

USB dongle

The program can be started as usual but the graphics are perceived as slow. This is solved by following the steps listed above.

Some people also experience that the USB lock loses contact and gives error messages. This too is solved with the hotfix.

Network license via software (Sentinel NLM)

If you are in contact with the NLM server and the program starts up slowly, make sure to close IRONCAD and apply our "hotfix" following the steps listed above.

Tip: Use IP address (numbers) rather than Server name (plain text). Unclear exactly what is causing this, but the DNS function may have an impact.

Tip2: Read carefully our guide where we also recommend switching from the LSConfigClient. exe tool to a newer and simplified configuration. This guide has everything listed with screenshots and clear instructions:

https://www.solidmakarna.se/installation-and-activation/configure-client

No access to NLM server (checked out license/secret license)

If you have checked out a license for your computer (also called "client"), but do not have direct contact with the NLM server, some may experience a delayed startup (due to "time out" from the NLM server). This can be fixed with the "hotfix" listed above.

Tip: If you used the LSConfigClient. exe tool, you will need to follow these steps to help you reconnect with the NML server when you are back in the office:

https://www.solidmakarna.se/installation-och-aktivering/konfigurera-klient

After following our guide above, go to the Windows Start Menu and open the IronCAD 2024 program group and run the program License Management Tool.

Select the Configure License Options option and click Next.

Check this box Use Sentinel License.

Save and close.

Leave this disabled until the problem is fixed, then you can enable this setting again.

If anything is unclear, please contact our support team!

Known but not yet solved problems after PU1 installation

CAXA DRAFT missing (possibly due to USB lock)

We have received reports that the CAXA DRAFT interface is missing and have temporarily solved this by removing the USB lock and activating a software license (contact us to get a temporary license).

Instability due to USB lock and disabled Toolbars

We have several reports of instability in the 3D scene, despite the hotfix above, which is solved by removing the USB lock and activating a temporary software license (contact us). Alternatively, reactivate Toolbars under Options, General.

Cannot move items past assemblies in the tree

If you try to drag and drop a part or subset (assembly) past another subset and drop the item next to the icon of another subset in the history tree...

...when you release the icon, the object will be "inside" instead of "above"/"next to".

Locked groups in the 2D drawing (ICD)

It has been reported that grouped objects in the 2D drawing (ICD) are "locked", meaning that they cannot be double-clicked to edit lines or text. A temporary workaround is to temporarily break the group(Ungroup via right-click) and edit lines or text blocks there. You can then group lines and text again (the group will then be locked again). This also applies to grouped objects that are released from a catalog.
