If you are sending an assembly that contains externally linked files or if you are creating a new revision of an assembly, you can use this trick. When we at support ask for sample files for troubleshooting etc. it is easy to miss attaching all externally linked files. What happens when the file is opened without its external references is that this box appears:

unable to find external linked file ironcad

This means that the assembly will not be complete. To avoid this, you can do this (you can also do this if you want to make a completely new revision of your assembly, 2D drawings are not included). Start by making a new folder somewhere on your computer, for the sake of simplicity we will make a new folder on the desktop. Right-click and select New>Folder.

create new folder

Then go to IRONCAD and open up the main collection. Then go to Menu>File>Save As...

save as ironcad

Then navigate to the new folder and press Save....

Save As IRONCAD

You will now get this box, select Copy all linked files to the new assembly file directory. .. then press Ok...
Tip, if you want to read more in depth about all the different options you can
read this article.

Save As Linked Files IRONCAD

What happens now is that IRONCAD collects all external links related to the assembly file(except 2D drawings) and places them in the new folder. All files in the new folder are a copy of a previous one, which means that these new files are NOT related to the old ones, it allows you to work in these files without affecting the other files, perfect when you need to make a new revision of a assembly. If you then want to send the assembly with all external links, right-click on the folder and select Send to>Compressed folder...

Compress folder

Now you can send the compressed folder. If the compressed folder is around 5-10 MB, it is usually possible to attach this to an email directly and then send it, but there is always a risk that the email will get stuck in mail filters when they are a little larger. Therefore, we generally recommend that you use some type of cloud service to send the file, e.g. Google Drive, One Drive, Dropbox, etc. Google Drive, One Drive, Dropbox etc. A smooth service for sending files is also www.sprend.com which is free up to 2GB.
