IRONCAD DRAFT can open 3D files created in IRONCAD or import 3D geometries in various neutral formats. These 3D models can then be positioned, animated, and rendered using the integrated tools in DRAFT. Use IRONCAD DRAFT to manage 3D models created by customers and colleagues. The 3D files can be easily mapped onto 2D drawings using a familiar user interface and powerful tools for detailed drafting and dimensioning in 2D. Of course, users can also create 2D drawings directly without mapping 3D models. Many people also use DRAFT to manage their own or their clients’ 2D drawings in a cost-effective manner.
DRAFT is IRONCAD's 2D environment as a standalone program. It includes everything except 3D modeling.

Yes. DRAFT opens 3D files created in IRONCAD and imports 3D geometry in neutral formats. The models can be positioned, animated, and rendered using the built-in tools and then depicted on 2D drawings with views, dimensions, and details.
Yes. DRAFT opens, edits, and saves DWG and DXF drawings, so you don't need a separate 2D program to work with your own or your customers' drawings.
Yes. You can create new 2D drawings right away, such as hydraulic diagrams. Standard symbols are included.
IRONCAD includes two 2D environments: the ICD module for quick visualization and dimensioning of 3D models, and the DRAFT environment with the traditional 2D CAD interface. DRAFT as a standalone program is the same environment without 3D modeling: you can open 3D models from IRONCAD or via the Translator add-on and create associative drawings from them, but you cannot create or modify 3D models.
DRAFT is included in the installation file for IronCAD DCS, which can be downloaded for free from our download center. The program requires 64-bit Windows 10 or 11.
