TriBall is INOVATE's tool for moving, rotating, copying, and linking everything in the 3D scene without a design plan. In production, you use TriBall when an imported part needs to be positioned correctly in the assembly—snapped to surrounding parts—in just a few seconds.
INOVATE uses the same catalog system as IRONCAD: features, parts, and entire assemblies are dragged directly into the 3D environment. Everything you build can be saved in your own catalogs and reused, which makes INOVATE fast when the same components appear in model after model.
INOVATE doesn't force you to use constraints. You work freely, and when a mechanism needs to be controlled, you apply locks and parametric dimensions exactly where they're needed. The result is creative freedom under normal circumstances and precise control when required.
Draw a cross-section in a plane and extrude, rotate, loft, or sweep it into a 3D shape. Sketching in INOVATE requires no constraints to achieve full precision, and you can just as easily import ready-made 3D shapes from the libraries instead of drawing new ones.
Smart parts from the catalogs snap together magnetically and resize depending on where they are placed, so product variants are created by dragging handles rather than remodeling. In INOVATE , you can freely combine parametric and free-form design, even within the same part.
INOVATE works with two solid kernels, ACIS from Spatial and Parasolid from Siemens, and you switch between them as needed. For a program that is so often used to import geometry, this is a crucial advantage: fewer problems and better results when importing from other CAD systems.
Models from INOVATE can be viewed directly in a web browser using the IronCAD Web Viewer, without the user having to install anything. This is ideal for sales and marketing—one of INOVATE’s typical user groups—and works just as well when embedded on your own website.
