The TriBall is an amazing feature in IRONCAD. You can move, copy or modify anything in 3D. Freely, lightning fast and with full precision. Replaces the need for Plan. Drag & drop finished 3D shapes, parts or entire assemblies to/from catalogs. Or use a 2D sketch and extrude into 3D - choose what works best at any given moment. Pull handles and snap to other parts, even in other assemblies, to make precise changes in seconds.
IRONCAD solves the need to create different variants of a product incredibly efficiently. Drag & drop smart parts from catalogs. These are attached together magnetically and also resize automatically depending on where you place them. Dimensions of entire assemblys are adjusted in a flash by pulling handles - done!
With IRONCAD you use Parametric Design when appropriate and Free Design in the normal case. You choose freely between both methods and switch in the same batch. Here, complete and customized solutions can be created easily and quickly!
The file management in IRONCAD is a real time saver. You can design directly in the assembly in one and the same file, whether the design consists of 1 or 10,000 parts. Link parts to external files only if and when you want. You can focus on construction instead of administration. No more creating the part in a separate file and guessing if it fits in the assembly. You can create assemblies with a mouse click in the 3D scene. True "Top - Down design"! Of course, you can also link existing files "Bottom - Up". Here, many people think that IRONCAD works so much more smoothly than in traditional solutions such as SolidWorks, Creo and Inventor.
With IRONCAD you can create geometries that cannot be done with old technology where the CAD solution only uses a solid kernel, often ACIS or Parasolid. On the other hand, you can benefit from this when modeling details in IRONCAD as shown in the movie. The different solid cores have their limitations and advantages. You can specify which core should be the default. But you can also quickly change solid kernel with the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+K" on a Part or entire compilation afterwards!
Another great advantage is when importing 3D files from different formats such as STEP. Imported geometry is created in the solid core you have chosen as default. Sometimes the conversion can be less good and then it is really great advantage to be able to import to the other solid core as an alternative.

IRONCAD COMPOSE is a free software that can be installed on Windows.
COMPOSE can be used as a powerful viewer to open IRONCAD 3D (*.ics) and 2D (*.icd and *.exb) files directly.
But also DWG and DXF 2D files can be opened in COMPOSE. In addition, COMPOSE can open a number of 3D facet formats. The 3D environment provides tools to easily measure, check and position parts. This allows, for example, users in production to easily open up files created in IRONCAD and check or measure on the models.
For a low cost, your sales department can upgrade Compose to Configurator. You can easily create your own products in IRONCAD and save them in different catalogues. These catalogues can contain different 3D parts or assemblys including information such as part number or price for example. IRONCAD offers the possibility to work with "magnet-points" (attachment-points) that solve the positioning automatically when objects are released in 3D! This allows the vendor to very easily use drag-and-drop to build a solution as easily as building with Lego. The seller can even get a BOM list including prices with a mouse click. In addition, parts can be moved or copied with the ingenious TriBall tool. There are even built-in tools both to create sales renderings or explanatory animations! Sales support couldn't be easier and more effective than this!

Apple uses its Metal graphics routine in newer MACs. Many programs do not work well with Metal (yet). Rhinoceros 7 may slow down as files get larger.
