If you have received another file format such as *.step, *.x_t, *.stl, *.sat etc. you need to import the file to IRONCAD. There is also an extension to IronCAD DCS called Translator that allows you to import files from Solidworks, UG NX, Inventor, BIM (*.ifc) etc. See here for details: https://www.solidmakarna.se/tillagg/ translator

But whether or not you have Translator , this is the correct way to go when importing files. Make a new 3D scene then go to the Home tab and press Import Geometry.

Import Geometry IRONCAD

  1. Now navigate to the model you want to import
  2. Make sure the dropdown menu is set to All parts (or if you have many files in the folder, you can set this to the format of the file).
  3. Now select the file you want to import
  4. Then press Open

Now the file will then be imported.
