Mercado Produktion AB in Halmstad designs and manufactures frames for specially adapted ergonomic chairs, including the classic Real 9000 Plus, Sweden's oldest and best-selling office chair. Everything is done under one roof: laser cutting, edge bending, welding, powder coating, assembly, and upholstery—a complete solution from idea to finished product with short lead times and high quality.
Peter Jonsson, Production Engineer at Mercado Produktion, has many years of experience with several different CAD systems and uses IRONCAD daily for both customer-specific designs and internal production equipment.

When manufacturing products, different types of fixtures are often required. Peter frequently uses pins and holes with the built-in functions in IRONCAD easily assemble the laser-cut parts in the fixtures. Fixtures are "one-offs" and are quickly produced in different designs.
"I design lots of welding fixtures with IRONCAD. I work in the same file all the time, which is easier, better, and faster than having to save parts to separate files all the time. It's also easier to get the parts to fit together with the right dimensions when you're working in the assembly all the time and have all the details in the same file. Just drag with the handle and snap to other parts you want to relate to.
I put parts that I want to be able to reuse quickly in catalogs on the side of the screen and can drag and drop them in like Lego. I don't have to use planes, mates, and constraints with the associated problems and loss of time. These tools are also available in IRONCAD instead I use TriBall, which is a wonderful tool for moving and copying, and more."
Peter has also created a layout of the entire workshop in IRONCAD.
"When it comes to working with a layout, it's super convenient to avoid locks and parameters and instead quickly create different proposals that can be discussed. We have drawn up the entire workshop as a layout in IRONCAD we are now updating and expanding our robotic welding department."
Peter Jonsson has been working with design using 3D CAD for many years and has extensive experience with various CAD solutions. He explains that they have different 3D CAD systems at Mercado Produktion AB and knows very well how traditional parametric systems work, which allows him to compare them with IRONCAD.
And here is a really decisive comment that shows how IRONCAD costs:
"Overall, I estimate that you can work three times faster in IRONCAD create production equipment, fixtures, and layouts, for example, compared to the standard parametric programs that I know well!"
concludes Peter Jonsson, Production Engineer at Mercado Produktion.
Thanks to IRONCAD's flexible approach, Mercado Produktion can maintain extremely short lead times – whether it's a unique design that needs to be adapted to customer requirements or a new welding fixture that needs to be ready the same week.
