What is 3D CAD?

CAD software (Computer Aided Design) is a digital tool used to create 3D models and technical drawings. It allows engineers, designers and product developers to visualize ideas, test different solutions and ensure that designs work before production. Modern systems allow for flexible working with parametric rules, direct editing and free-form design - all according to the needs of the project.

With the software you can:

  • With the 3D CAD program IRONCAD you can create flexible or parametric three-dimensional models and
thus more easily see how products look and work in reality.
  • Test different design CAD solutions without being limited by parametric systems.
  • Drag, angle and move surfaces freely with direct editing, allowing you to quickly customize imported geometry.
  • Create detailed technical drawings to facilitate production and prototyping.

Flexible modeling in IRONCAD

The fastest and most productive method for most needs. Create parts quickly and intuitively with full story trees and intelligent associative features that are also sketch-based. It combines intelligent modeling with flexibility in a unique way that no other 3D CAD system can offer. The picture above shows the No Twist Coiler (NTC) designed by Lämneå Bruk AB.

Our software

We are resellers of IRONCAD, DDM, WoodLab and Rhinoceros and offer complete solutions for
‍productdesign and construction.

Black flag with a white embossed design resembling a stylized shield or emblem.

IRONCAD

Choose or combine between flexible, parametric and direct modeling - all in one tool that makes design faster and more intuitive.

Abstract circular design with one large circle enclosing three smaller circles, connected by lines.

DDM (PLM)

PLM/PDM system that organizes, controls and secures all design data. Get full control over versions, changes and collaborations - directly integrated with your design tools.

Screen with IRONCAD 3D CAD

With IRONCAD , several types of modeling can be combined in the same workflow, making it possible to maintain both precision and flexibility.

Different types of modeling

  • Parametric modeling: guided by rules and parameters - ideal for reusable designs.
  • Direct editing: drag, move or angle surfaces quickly, efficiently on imported geometry.
  • Freeform design: used for complex and organic shapes, for example in product design in Rhino.

Baltic Yachts - Optimization with IRONCAD

The 218-foot ketch Hetairos is the largest yacht Baltic has launched to date. By using IRONCAD , their designers were able to produce 3D models and optimize the design in carbon fiber. This example shows how our CAD solution makes it possible to handle complex projects in different industries. Read more about Baltic Yachts below and how they use CAD in their daily work.
